My daughter has become quite taken with the topic of history in school, and learns it every chance she can. I’ve never seen a high schooler choose history as an elective.
She recently was given an assignment about the old English king Edred, and she found out something absolutely fascinating. As she was going over his lineage and list of relatives, she found a name she recognized.
At first, she could not recall who it was, but I did. It was a name my husband had mentioned at dinner more than once. His genealogy study proved that we’re related to Edred, albeit separated by a thousand years or so.
